"My dinner with Andre" (1981)

A classic. Movie I couldn't get my eyes (and ears) off. What is this flick about? In short - 2 guys meet at the restaurant for a dinner and talk. That's all this movie is about. But the art of conversation and things these guys have to say - it's not something you will see/hear in eg. X-Men. This of course has other side - you will have to focus on the movie and nothing else. So again - effort is required to get full experience from this one.

Magic of the situation portrayed in the movie is based on couple of things. Very interesting anecdotes mixed with real life observations coming from theatre director and actor / writer are mesmerising. Andre, who talks a lot more, talks about his life, his journey through the world, about the magical situations he was in. Wallace is listening with full attention and discuss some of the matters he doesn't agree on with his friend, however mutual respect is always there. That's also a beauty of this movie - once you get sucked by Andre's view of the world, Wallace comes up with a different one - you, as a viewer, are caught in a dilemma on where to go? Who's right? Maybe both of them? And in general - what's real? Or even more specific - do you really have to visit Nepal and go to the mountains to get enlightenment? Or can it happen no matter where you are?

You gotta see the movie, that's what I'm saying. If you're high - I recommend it even more ;)

Andre: Remember that moment when Marlon Brando sent the Indian woman to accept the Oscar, and everything went haywire? Things just very rarely go haywire now. If you're just operating by habit, then you're not really living.
